2020 GHOST TRAINS CANCELLATION

It is with deep regret that The Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway/Blaenavon’s Heritage Railway announces the cancellation of its 2020 Halloween Ghost Trains.

We know that the announcement will come as a big disappointment to many. Halloween is by far our most popular event, attracting around 4,000 passengers every year. Despite COVID-19, many of you – including our volunteers – were keen for us to run an event this year, hoping to enjoy some fun scares and laughter in these difficult times.

Over the last few weeks, we explored various options to run the event in a COVID-secure way. Although we devised some innovative ways to scare you all safely, sadly, as the coronavirus situation stands (especially with the local lockdown measures in place across South Wales), none of these are possible. We will be taking a similar decision for our Steam Santa Specials soon and will share information as we have it.

Despite the negative situation, we like to keep optimistic. If the general circumstances improve over the coming weeks, then we may explore whether we can offer some form of service. To that end, we advise that you keep an eye on our website and social media channels for further information.
