TIGHTENING OF CORONAVIRUS RESTRICTIONS IN WALES

Our railway crest

From Monday 14th September 2020 the Welsh Government will be tightening the coronavirus restrictions in Wales following a rise in cases.

From this date onwards, indoor meetings of more than six people from an extended household will be banned. However, this rule of six will NOT include children under 11. Outdoor gatherings of up to 30 people are still permitted.

In addition, from Monday 14th September people in Wales must wear a face-covering in shops and other indoor spaces. Exemptions apply to those under the age of 11 and those who are unable to wear one because of a health condition.

In response to these new requirements, we have had to make some changes to current our terms and conditions.

Ticket bookings:

In line with the new restrictions, from Monday 14th September 2020 onwards compartment bookings for 7 - 8 people are only permitted if an appropriate number of group members are under 11. By this, we mean that a group of seven must include one member under the age of 11, whilst a group of eight must include two members. In addition, all adults MUST be from the same extended household.

By booking with us, you will be confirming that your group will follow this requirement. If you have an existing booking affected by these changes then please contact us.

Face coverings:

From Monday 14th September 2020 those over aged 11 and over must wear an appropriate face-covering whilst in our station buildings. Please note that this is in addition to the existing need to wear face coverings in carriage corridors. Furthermore, our previous request for Railway Shop customers to wear a face-covering will now become a requirement.

Exemptions apply to those who are unable to wear a face-covering due to a health condition or disability.

Over the coming weeks we will be continuing to review the situation and make changes as necessary. Our volunteers thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
