friday 13th november Update:new dates added (Sunday 6th and Saturday 12th December 2020)
In response to unprecedented demand, we now have added additional trains on Sunday 6th and Saturday 12th December. Bookings will open on our TicketSource account from 5 p.m. on Friday 13th November 2020. To help ensure that everyone has the best possible chance of getting the train they want, tickets will be released in two batches on a staggered basis.

In response to issues encountered by some customers during the first ticket release,
our volunteers have worked hard to further simplify the booking process.

Select the date and time on which you wish to travel.
Please ensure that you select the correct options as you WILL NOT be able to amend, change or swap this once your booking is complete.
Choose either a Standard Compartment or our wheelchair friendly Accessible Space. Both include between 1 - 4 people in the initial price. If you wish to add additional persons to your booking, then use the 'Additional adults/children aged 3 and over' or 'Additional children aged 0 - 2 years old'. The latter may travel free without a ticket, provided that the can be safely accommodated on the laps of their parents or guardians. However, they will not receive a gift from Santa unless the '0 - 2 years old' option has been chosen.
Each Standard Compartment/Accessible Space can accommodate up to 8 people. Unfortunately, our ticketing system cannot stop bookings in excess of this amount when combining both additional options. It is therefore up to you to ensure that your group complies with the 8 person limit.*
*Please be aware that the 8 person limit does not include babies or toddlers who can be safely accommodated on the laps of their parent or guardian.

We are an entirely volunteer-run charity that aims to keep the history of steam in the South Wales Valleys alive for future generations. We've been badly affected by the coronavirus pandemic and have an ongoing COVID-19 appeal. Any donations you may wish to make would be sincerely appreciated by all our volunteers.
After reading the terms and conditions carefully, please provide the names and ages of all children who will be travelling.
