Definitions:
The Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway Company (1983) Limited: The not-for-profit organisation that operates the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway, marketed as Blaenavon's Heritage Railway.

TICKET TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

Tickets are required for all passengers aged three or over.

Tickets are valid for one round trip commencing at the chosen date and time.

Please arrive in good time for your booked departure as we cannot guarantee that you can be accommodated on an alternative service.

Upon arrival, you must check-in at the ticket office where you will be issued with a ticket for your journey.

Passengers may also be able to travel on earlier and/or later services, subject to available space. Please speak to the Station Master at Furnace Sidings for assistance.

First Class tickets aboard our saloon vehicles are valid for travel in this vehicle at the stated date and time only.
Any additional journeys must be in the standard class carriages at the discretion of the railway. -
Tickets must be produced on request by our Railway volunteers/staff and, if required, be surrendered at the completion of the journey. Any passenger failing to produce a ticket will be liable to pay again the fare for the journey completed.

Passengers are advised to take out cancellation protection with Ticketsource when booking.
No refunds will be given for tickets purchased if you cancel or fail to turn up for your booked service.

TRANSFERABILITY OF TICKETS:

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that they have purchased the correct tickets as all tickets are not transferable.

ACCESSIBILITY:

We strive to be as accessible to our visitors as possible. We are always working on improving accessibility, and our friendly volunteers will always do their best to ensure disabled visitors their time with us.

Due to the heritage nature of our operation, we regret that the accessibility of certain provisions and services may be limited.

One carer may travel free with a fare paying less able person. The carer must obtain a complimentary ticket from the booking office on arrival at the railway, identification or written proof of the carer status must be provided in order to be eligible for free travel.

Parking at Blaenavon's Heritage Railway is provided for visitors to the Railway and any other authorised party (subject to prior agreement with the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway Company (1983) Ltd (PBR)). The PBR accepts no liability for any loss, damage or theft of vehicles or any personal belongings left within the vehicles. All visitors park their vehicle at their own risk. Vehicles may not be parked overnight without prior agreement with the PBR. The PBR reserves the right to suspend visitor car parking or close the car park at any time.

CHANGES TO / CANCELLATION OF ADVERTISED SERVICES:
The Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway Company (1983) Limited, operators of the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway (marketed as Blaenavon's Heritage Railway), reserves the right to:

Alter, modify and/or cancel advertised services (including events) at any time with or without notice as and when circumstances dictate.

Substitute a diesel/steam locomotive for the advertised steam/diesel service if circumstances dictate with or without notice.

TICKETSOURCE:

All tickets purchased through TicketSource are subject to a non-refundable additional booking fee paid directly to TicketSource Ltd.

SPECIAL EVENTS:

Additional or altered terms and conditions may apply during special events. These will be outlined clearly through the relevant web pages and on our ticketing provider TicketSource.

SAFETY:
Our railway is not a toy. As an operational railway subject to rules set out by the Office of Rail and Road, Her Majesty's Rail Inspectorate, the Rail Standards Safety Board, our Transport and Works Act Order and others, we have a duty to uphold safety. Those visiting our premises, including on days when we are closed, must adhere to the following:

You must not trespass on the railway - those caught trespassing may be liable to pay a fine of £1000.

Access to non-public areas of the railway including Furnace Sidings yard is strictly forbidden unless under the authorised accompaniment of a member of staff who is in possession of the necessary permissions and qualifications.

Always Stop, Look and Listen when crossing the railway at a foot crossing. Remove distractions such as earphones until you are safely away from the line.

Never climb on a bridge over railway tracks.

Never play with a ball or toy on or near a station platform.​

Never throw objects at a train or place anything on the tracks.

Customers and others on the Railway's premises are subject to the directions of the company’s staff/volunteers at all times, including instructions given to uphold health and safety.

Cyclists, scooter riders, skaters and rollerbladers etc. must dismount prior to entering station platforms.

Passengers must not open doors or lean out of windows whilst the train is in motion.

In the interests of upholding everyone's health and safety, we reserve the right to ask those violating the above to leave our premises and take any appropriate further action necessary.
DOGS:
Well-behaved dogs are welcome to travel on our trains for free.

Dogs must be kept off seats and be accommodated with due consideration for your fellow passengers.

INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO PERSONAL EFFECTS FROM LOCOMOTIVE EMISSIONS:
By their nature, our locomotives may emit smoke, oil, and cinders.

The Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway Company (1983) Ltd. cannot accept responsibility for any loss, damage, accident or injury caused as a direct or indirect result of these emissions.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS (INCLUDING BIG PIT NATIONAL COAL MUSEUM, BLAENAVON IRONWORKS AND RHYMNEY BREWERY:

The Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway Company (1983) Limited cannot take responsibility for the provision of facilities or services at external venues, including Big Pit National Coal Museum (operated by Amgueddfa Cymru/National Museum of Wales), Blaenavon Ironworks (operated by Cadw) or Rhymney Brewery.​

WHISTLE INN PUBLIC HOUSE:​

​Visitors intending to alight at Whistle Inn Halt to visit the adjacent Whistle Inn public house should check beforehand with the venue to confirm opening times and any pre-booking requirements - the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway Company (1983) Limited can take no responsibility for the provision of facilities or services at this venue.

ABUSE OF CUSTOMERS/RAILWAY VOLUNTEERS:

Abuse of fellow customers and/or our railway volunteers will not be tolerated with offenders being liable to be asked to leave our railway's services and premises
