STEAM SANTA

SPECIALS 2020

Join Santa and his elves for a steam-hauled journey back in time!

ADDITIONAL TRAINS ADDED SUNDAY 6TH

AND SATURDAY 12TH DECEMBER!

ABOUT

Join Santa and his elves this December for a steam-hauled journey through the Blaenavon World Heritage Site.

Your journey begins at our festively decorated Furnace Sidings station. Here our tearoom will be open, serving a range of hot and cold drinks, together with a range of sweet treats. Shortly before departure, our elves will help guide you to your private steam-heated compartment, where a goody bag awaits every child.

Once the journey is underway, Santa and Mrs Claus will visit each family/bubble in turn, allowing you to chat with them from the comfort of your seats. Our elves will also be passing through the train, providing children with a small helping of juice, whilst adults will be treated to a mince pie and sherry/non-alcoholic alternative. In total, the journey will last approximately 35 - 40 minutes.

Please be aware that things will be different from our usual Steam Santa Special services. We therefore strongly advise that all passengers who have visited us previously read the following information.

Prices start at £40 for up to 4 people, with any additional passengers costing £10 each up to a maximum capacity of 8 people. Please be aware that under Welsh Government regulations each booking may only include 4 people aged 11 or older, with no limits on children younger than this.

KEEPING EVERYONE SAFE

Our elves have spent a lot of time working out how to keep everyone safe this Christmas.

  • To help Keep Wales Safe, we'll need to collect some contact information from you upon your arrival. This will only be used to assist the NHS Wales Test, Trace, Protect programme, should an outbreak occur on our premises.

  • Each family/bubble will be allocated to a specific compartment, in which you must remain seated throughout your journey.

  • To comply with Welsh Government regulations, all visitors aged 11 or over must wear a face covering when inside station buildings and carriage corridors (exemptions apply for those with disabilities).

  • Santa and his elves don't want to end up on their own naughty list, so they'll be wearing Christmassy face-coverings when interacting with passengers through open compartment doors.

  • We also ask passengers to wear a mask when interacting with Santa and his elves.

  • Adults and children aged 11 or over should be seated furthest away from the compartment door wherever possible.

  • All interior handles will be disinfected between every train, whilst carriage windows will left open between services to increase ventilation.

  • Hand sanitiser will be available at Furnace Sidings station and onboard then train.

  • Keep carriage windows open whenever possible.

The above policies have been developed by consulting Welsh Government guidelines and sector guidance.

Please also consider installing the NHS COVID-19 app for use during your visit. For more information, see https://www.nhs.uk/apps-library/nhs-covid-19/

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE ABOVE MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE OVER THE COMING DAYS, SHOULD THE WELSH GOVERNMENT ISSUE ANY NEW GUIDANCE/REGULATIONS.
