Saturday 26th September - PRE BOOKINGS ONLY!
We are delighted to offer a short photography event on the Saturday morning of this year’s Industrial Steam of South Wales II Gala.
We will be lining up four locomotives that were all originally based at Mountain Ash Shed, including two visiting locomotives.
While Pannier 7754, Hunslet No. 3878 ‘Haulwen’ and Andrew Barclay No. 2074 'Llantarnam Abbey' are being prepared for the day by our crews , they will be lined up alongside cosmetically restored No.1680 ‘Sir John’.
This will allow you to get some up-close, ground-level photos of four Mountain Ash workhorses. All four will be lined up outside the Eric Edwards Carriage Shed at Furnace Sidings.
This once-in-a-lifetime event will be limited to a small number of participants and will be priced at £10 per person.

Important information:
All participants will meet at the Furnace Sidings station building and will be given a short safety briefing. You will then be escorted down through the yard to the carriage shed.
The event is expected to last approximately one hour. Participants will be given access to the inside of the carriage shed siding compound, where the locomotives will be stabled. No locomotive movements will be undertaken during the event.
Participants are expected to have good mobility, as the route down to the shed is over rough terrain.
Good footwear and a high-visibility vest must be worn at all times. We recommend bringing your own vest, as we will only have a limited number available on the day.
