SPITFIRE FLYPAST CONFIRMED
FOR 1940s WEEKEND
We are delighted to announce that following confirmation from the RAF, a Battle of Britain Memorial flypast is scheduled to take place at this years 1940s weekend.
The two day event takes place on the 12th & 13th August and will feature flypasts on both days.
The iconic Supermarine Spitfire was critical in defeating Luftwaffe air attacks during the Battle of Britain in 1940. More Spitfires were built than any other British combat aircraft before or since World War Two - 20,341 in total. Their Merlin V12 engine produced an iconic sound, one we can’t wait to hear over Blaenavon!
The Spitfire flypast not only celebrates the welcome return of our 1940s event following a seven year absence, but also the railways 40th Anniversary.
Timings of the flypast;
Saturday 12th August 12:06
Sunday 13th August 13:06
Please arrive before these times if you want to view the flypast. No refunds will be given should the RAF decide that prevailing conditions are unsuitable for the flypast to take place.

Please note that RAF reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the flypast if they deem necessary, for example due to poor weather conditions.
